What is a Foolish Fish Party?

A group or individual wishing to collaberate on a Foolish Fish Party should contact parties@foolishaprilfish.com. A Foolish April Fish Party Consultant will be assigned to each Foolish Fish Party and a Foolish Fish Party Registration Package will be distributed when an individual or group registers to host a Foolish April Fish Party.

Fund Splitting - Stone Jars

For as many groups that come together to orginize a Foolish Fish Party, put the same number of buckets on display, labeled for each cause. Each person entering the party and making a donation to the Foolish Fish Party will be given twice the number of rocks as there are buckets. They will be instructed to put one stone in each bucket and then put the remaining stones in buckets they choose. Funds collected by donation will be divided between the causes according the proportion of stones in the buckets.

Theme - Naming of a Foolish April Fish Party

Suggested method of naming of the party is to choose thee words from a list. The list is created by asking many different people to give one word to the list. The last word to be added to the list is fish. Choose three words from the list, the third being "fish" to create the Foolish April Fish Party name

The host will be responisble for returning one paper fish cut out per Foolish Fish Party Guest to their party consultant. Parties have the option of setting up colouring and signing or the host can simply count the number of Foolsih Fish Party Guests and with the party consultant create a fish cut out for each guest.

"8 million Fish Stones"

Each registration comes with an 8 Million Fish Stone. This stone carries the name of the party, is dedicated to and represents one of the millions of fish that did not return to the Fraser River in 2009. The stone will be thrown in the ocean or in any of the rivers or creeks or buried ground within your watershed or in your home with the idea of eventually bringing as many of those missing fish back to the circle, back home, with each individual fish being named and having a personality.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. - Foolish Fish Parties are about different causes working together so that the sum raised from their cooperation is greater than the total of each on their own was capable of raising. We do not want to transfer money from one cause to another. Funds are hard to come by. We want to increase the total funds available for all sorts of causes.
